Youth Support
HGNMF supports individual foster youth 11-21 years-of-age by offering opportunities and experiences that broadening their educational and cultural horizons, offer solutions for special and emergency needs, and assist youth in transitioning to a productive adulthood.
Requests for individual support come through CYFD social workers, consultants, and select youth oriented organizations. HGNMF will focus on “hard-to-place” foster children: pre-teens, teens, siblings, and the mildly disabled. For these children custody time could be extended for years while living with multiple foster families. Needs are many and varied. They include emergency needs that must have immediate attention to art, culture, and sports equipment, tutors, therapy, attendance at special events, school field trips, and summer camps.
